Governing Body

The Board of Directors appointed the following members of the Governing Body:

Samantha Dossetter
Chair of Governors & Parent Governor | Link Governor Roles: Safeguarding, Child Protection, Attendance and Pupil Premium

Samantha Dossetter

Samantha is a Parent Governor and has a son at the school.

Samantha has worked for the past ten years in school governance in Bromley and London and has a strong understanding of the ways in which governors can contribute to the effectiveness of school life and developing the whole child experience. She has a passion for supporting the education and development of each and every child in the school.

Samantha leads governance across a 19 school Primary Multi-Academy Trust in Bromley and works closely with Headteachers, Chairs and Governors.

Previous to having children Samantha held senior HR roles in both the public and private sectors, which have equipped her with strong people skills and an understanding of the confidentiality required when dealing with school matters. Samantha has a degree in Law from the University of Warwick and a Masters in Human Resource Management.

Keiko Snape
Vice Chair of Governors

Keiko Snape

Keiko is a retired chartered accountant with over 10 years’ experience working in the City of London. More recently, she has spent over 20 years in education finance, working across phases from pre-school and primary school, up to secondary schools, all within Bromley. She has two children, and her long association with Ravens Wood began in 2000 when her son joined the school. Since then, she has been a member of the PSA, governing body, member and trustee of the academy trust, and has continued to support Ravens Wood through the years.

Keiko is a firm believer in good education for all, and hopes that her knowledge and experience can help steer Ravens Wood through its journey to guide our future leaders.

Linda Tooher
Governor | Link Governor Roles: SEND & Personal Development (including RSHE)

Linda Tooher

Linda trained as a teacher and has been involved in Education for 38 years. She has worked in Bexley, Lewisham and Bromley schools and has a wide range of teaching experience from Pre-school to Secondary.

Her main area of expertise is in the support of vulnerable pupils (and their families) with learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties within the educational context of school. However, she believes in an holistic approach to enhancing the progress of every pupil – working with the pupil, the family and the staff to establish the best relationship and environment for academic achievement.

Linda has lived in Bromley for nearly 40 years and has two lovely grown up daughters. She is a creative person who enjoys sport, art, drama, modern dance and interior design.

Claire Murphy

Claire Murphy

As a former journalist, I will investigate proposals and developments on behalf of pupils, parents and staff. My son has been thriving at this welcoming, academically excellent school since 2019.

Matthew Williamson
Governor | Link Governor Role: Pupil Premium

Matthew Williamson

Matthew is a commercial and strategy professional in the telecommunications sector. He graduated from Oxford University in Modern Languages and has over 15 years’ experience leading multi-million-pound commercial negotiations, creating new business ventures, and building major strategic change programmes.

Matthew is married with 3 daughters and is passionate about providing children with the right environment to become inspired, engaged, and self-motivated, skilled young adults.

Rui Wang
Governor | Link Governor Role: Finance

Rui Wang

Rui is a qualified actuary and CFA charterholder, working in the financial services sector. He specialises in quantitative modelling and enterprise risk management, and has been volunteering with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries for 8 years in a series of educational roles.

Rui is passionate about promoting financial literacy, as well as fostering a strong interest for lifelong learning among young people.

Andrew Wescott
Governor | Link Governor Roles: Site and Premises and Health and Safety

Andrew Wescott

Andrew is Director of Sustainability and Regulation at Addison Lee, where he manages their Environment, Sustainability and Governance strategy as well as relationships with National and Local Governments, regulators and industry partners. Prior to joining Addison Lee, Andrew was an Associate Director at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where he specialised in infrastructure policy.

In his spare time Andrew loves to walk Spiro, his loyal Whippet. He is a keen runner, baker and has recently taken on an allotment, which keeps him very busy at the weekends. Andrew is a passionate West Ham fan but has adopted Bromley since moving to the area.

Sam Safo-Kantanka
Governor

Sam Safo-Kantanka

Samuel is a data analytics professional in the financial services sector. He graduated from University in Manchester in Biotechnology and has over 10 years’ experience leading global teams building new capabilities and driving strategic projects. His work has involved working with students across London helping them improve their chances of joining universities, and mentoring people at different levels in their careers.

Samuel is married with 2 daughters and is passionate about providing children with an environment to become the best version of themselves.

Shontay Angel
Governor

Shontay Angel

Shontay is a qualified social worker with over a decade of experience working with children and families in a wide range of settings, including the private sector and more recently within Local Authorities. Most recently Shontay has began to teach the next generation of Social Work Students through Practice Education.

Shontay is the parent of a teenager, and therefore with her professional knowledge and skills, and personal experience, hopes to support students at Ravens Wood in achieving their personal best, believing in themselves and developing great resilience. In her spare time Shontay enjoys writing poetry and attending arts events.

Pamela Manfo-Marc
Governor

Pamela Manfo-Marc

I am a parent at Ravens Wood School and mum of two. I am a Graduate in French and Law and worked as a Personal Assistant in Private Equity before being a stay-at-home mum. I returned to work two years ago as an Invigilator, joining the school’s excellent Exams team. I also work for Elite Probes as an Office Manager and have recently embarked on a new venture as a Travel Advisor.

I am excited to have been elected as Parent Governor, to support the parents and teachers to achieve the best for all children at the school. Upholding the school’s values and providing the best available services for all students.

Mr L Frondigoun
Staff Governor

Mr L Frondigoun

Mr Frondigoun is the staff Governor at Ravens Wood School; he studied Social and Economic History at the University of Liverpool and has worked in education since 2013. He is a teacher of History, Head of Year and also a rugby coach within the school. Mr Frondigoun is passionate about his subject, and also the pastoral care of students.

Outside of school Mr Frondigoun is part of a local rugby club and a keen cyclist, regularly completing fundraising events for both local and national charities.

Ms M Lester
Governor (Headteacher)

Ms M Lester

Ms Lester has been the Headteacher at Ravens Wood School since September 2022, and was formerly a Senior Leader at the school for over 7 years. Prior to this, Ms Lester was a Vice Principal at another local school in the borough and has worked in education for the past 18 years. Ms Lester is a teacher of History, she has a Master’s Degree in Leading Teaching and Learning and has the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers.

Ms Lester is passionate about providing an excellent education for all children and ensuring they are given the best life chances possible, she has a wealth of experience in education. In her spare time Ms Lester likes to spend time with her family and her young daughter; she loves to travel and also enjoys being creative with graphic design, art and interior design.
