Personal Development Curriculum

RWSCurriculum Transparent

At Ravens Wood School, our students’ Personal Development is an integral part of our curriculum. Staff and students work together at Ravens Wood to create a school with a culture of safeguarding and this is supported by our extensive PSHE curriculum provision across Year 7 to 11.

Healthy Heart Curriculum

Our PSHE programme starts in Year 7 and goes through to Year 11 and includes lessons on how to keep your heart healthy through making positive choices, and training on how to help save a life, using CPR and AEDs. At Ravens Wood School, the Healthy Heart Curriculum is important to us as we support the CRY charity in working to identify cardiac risk in the young, and we offer all students (over the age of 14) the choice to be screened in a bid to identify any undetected conditions. If you would like to find out more about this charity, please visit their website https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/

Ben Daniels

Ben Daniels

CRY is such an important charity to Ravens Wood School because we sadly lost one of our own students, Ben Daniels, due to an undetected cardiac condition in March 2011.

The school works closely with Ben’s father to raise awareness with our students and to try and prevent this tragedy happening to another family. The Ben Daniels Memorial Fund has been set up in his memory and a link to this fund can be found here: https://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ben-daniels/
