Working at Ravens Wood

We look forward to welcoming new, newly qualified and experienced teachers and associate (support) staff at Ravens Wood to join a skilled and committed team on our mission to deliver excellence everywhere, every day. We believe that delivering excellent education, pastoral care, support and guidance to all our students will result in them reaching their full potential.

Whilst we want our students to leave us after seven years as better learners and young people, we also aim to develop as practitioners as well. At Ravens Wood, our staff benefit from working in a supportive and collaborative learning community, committed to professional development. Opportunities are available for all staff to develop, take on responsibility and lead staff and students.

At Ravens Wood School we offer:
  • An excellent induction and support programme for new staff.
  • Internal CPD teacher development and leadership development.
  • External speakers for contemporary research-led CPD.
  • Access to a bespoke Ravens Wood online CPD portal, providing a range of CPD resources, guidance and training.
  • A supportive Senior Leadership Team who consider staff well-being.
  • A supportive Trainee and NQT programme.
  • A friendly working environment.
  • An on-site fitness suite available for free use by staff.
  • Free access to a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided through Health Assured.

As a school, we deliver a thorough programme of CPD for our staff through weekly Breakfast Clubs and BFL Clinics, one to one coaching and mentoring, as well as Training Days which often include external key note speakers from the world of education. Recent visitors to Ravens Wood include Sue Cowley, Will Ord, Tom Sherrington, Martin Robinson, Mike Carter, Rob Neil and Phil Beadle. Our CPD programme endeavours to reflect the aims of the School Development Plan as well as the needs of the individual. New staff and those new to role receive a comprehensive induction programme. We are committed to supporting colleagues to develop through all stages of their career.

I hope you will feel that Ravens Wood School is a school which is aligned with your personal values. I am certain that you would find working with our wonderful students and colleagues both enjoyable and rewarding.

Ravens Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
